“Garden Gate has taught me that its OK to say no and set healthy boundaries”

Joy is a resident at Garden Gate, a 6 month residential treatment program of Unison Behavioral Health. Joy is a licensed cosmetologist, and says she realized she had a problem with addiction when she was arrested and sentenced to 20 years probation. It was at that time she was referred to Garden Gate, where she says she has learned new coping skills, how to better communicate, and most importantly – how to say no and set healthy boundaries. Joy has 2 children and 3 grandchildren. Although Joy described Garden Gate as a “God-send,” she looks forward to graduating soon. She has plans to attend Celebrate Recovery in her hometown, where she has a great support system of family and friends.
